Overview of Modules

  • The first module of this course includes an introductory video. It also offers a rudimentary review of EFT, a therapeutic approach centred on the idea that emotions are central to one’s identity. This short-term therapy is meant to help adults strengthen their attachment and bonding.
  • The second module delves into the origins and evolution of EFT. Emotion-focused therapy theory was established mainly by Leslie Greenberg and is centred on scientific research into the individual emotional experience. It’s a humanistic treatment method that aims to help individuals accept, manage, comprehend, and express their feelings more effectively.
  • The third module delves into the strategies employed in EFT. The formation of two fundamental abilities is usually the focus of EFT sessions. These are increasing recognition and acceptance of one’s emotions, learning to convert emotions, and better using the details they provide to prevent harmful or detrimental behaviours and other consequences of some emotions.
  • The fourth module discusses how therapists who use this method listen and question with empathy, non-judgment, and reflection to assist the individuals in therapy gain a more profound knowledge of their feelings. In addition, couples experiencing conflict, distress, or poor communication may benefit from EFT.
  • The fifth module explains the perks and efficacy of EFT. It is helpful in a wide variety of situations. It can unwind instinctive, counterproductive impulses that put relationships in jeopardy. As a therapeutic model, it has a lot of advantages.
  • The sixth module covers the limitations of EFT. It clarifies that EFT is unable to address all issues. EFT will only go so far if you have particular psychological difficulties like anxiety or impulse control. Anxiety and impulse control affect your ideas, feelings, sensations, and emotions.
  • The course ends with three (3) assessment questions to help you review what you’ve learned.
